Has anyone ever run here? I did this last weekend and had a blast. I REALLY like this track alot. There aren't any walls you need to worry about and there is alot of runout. If it weren't 100 all the time it would be better. I think you guys should run an event here sometime.

I haven't been there. Got a site? Maybe we'll see about running it.

I'm already planning for the SoloII National Tour coming up there in January. Sounds like an awesome place.

6 additional Hours for me, than you John (it don't bother me) Book it Dano!

Just make it a 2 day event-- 1 and it would not be worth it fo me.

yeah, its totally flat, but its still WAY fun, the only bad thing I can say about it is the heat! There are lots of locals down there who go to every event at the track, there were about 100 HPDE cars last weekend and most were locals. Anyways, you can count me in to run again there.

Aaron's on it, and we're still trying to figure out the schedule for 2004.  I'm interested, of course!

Here's the problem I see with running AZ next year: we have 2 events in Jan., 1 in Feb., 1 in March, 1 in April, 1 in May, and no events in June-September. These months will certainly be filled by something, but they're scorchers in Arizona.

We have a 3-day mega-event in October, and an event in November. So, that leaves December of next year. ???

If we can get the locals to show, that's great, but I don't see us getting much attendance from Californians. Maybe 10 would be my guess.

So, to make this happen we need Arizonian participation in organizing it. Anyone know any Arizonians?

If you could get a date there sometime before April and bill it as "AMP OTC DCB HPDE" those that can decipher all the acronyms will be likely to attend.

Fluxen / Bitterman / Etc.,

I have booked this track for the Labor Day '04 weekend, but am also a bit concerned about being able to fill the track with SoCal folks.

If you're interested in sharing time, I think we can work something out!

Lets try to save AZ motorsports park!!!, read the news on the Scca forums:

http://www.sccaforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=37;t=001052#000000

to summarize the news, supporters want us to email the county supervisor claiming that the AZ motorsports park is a great facility that shouldn't be shut down do to residents over a mile away complaining about noise

if anything they should at least put a decibel limit on the cars like they do @ Laguna Seca

so basically no civics allowed with straight pipes from the header-back --Isn't some back-pressure good

email here:

No no no no no. This is the worst thing you can do for AMP, as they are in trouble because they were originally supposed to be a private facility. Every time you email them saying it's a great racetrack that you and your buddies want to drive on, it just drives home the point that it never was intended to be a private facility.

Well, they're toast for the moment. I'm really bummed about it, hope the get their license back. However, the track owner didn't do himself any favors by...misleading, let's say...the city council to get the permit in the first place.

In any case if the track re-opens, we should talk, gezuvor.

Any updates on this? The last I heard (in March) was they were still closed and fighting the county...
