Looks like it would be a blast to drive!

Looks cool. 1 mile may be a little short for a track event but I'd love to run it sometime!

Just got back from the Streets a couple weekends ago, and a few people drove up there to check it out (someone left a gate open or something...).  Apparently the run-off is frightening, and the road/track is pretty thin.   No one that went up there sounded as thrilled to run it as they did before seeing it first hand.   But who knows...

No question, it's going to be a dangerous track. We were talking to the corner workers last SOWS event, and they expect it to be open to car events only until the first couple of rollovers, after which cars will be banned from it.

It's the only track I know where you can leave the track and basically slide down into a CANYON

That said, I'd drive it, but cautiously.

Nice, looks like the roads back east where I came from.  Think of the fun to be had there without worrying about the oncoming tour busses

I was at the streets in October.  During our lunch break, I drove up there and the gate was open.  A site worker came by to tell me I wasn't allowed there, but before I left he took me for a quick ride through the whole track--in his pick up truck.  I believe he said it's 37 ft wide through the whole track, and the longest straight is not that long at all (700 ft?).  Looked like fun for Karting.

Good news about the streets:  He told me that some time in November they're going to fix the rough parts of the track.  One is the sharp left right after the downhill esses past the back straight.  I think the other is the sharp right after the uphill not too long after T3.  I'm sure everyone who's been on the track after it's been re-paved (I guess it was really just a surface re-coating) hates those 2 spots.  I know I do.

I was one of the people who went up there. I may be Gung Ho, but I wouldn't run that track at speed for ANYTHING! It was enough to take 3 laps at no faster than 2nd gear to scratch that itch.

very scary

I second that! once a few cars are rolled there then they will ban it from automobiles

The first three turns (clockwise, starting at the strainght in the forground) seem to resemble Streets...

more exaggerated and tighter than streets though. I would be interested if it weren't for the canyons between turns

Huh. Apparently none of you guys drive the local canyons in Southern California. That looks like a blast!

Probably better in front-wheel-drive, though.

Well, I'd rather spend money on SV track days, which are safer, than on traffic fines and higher insurance rates.  I'll just leave it at that........
