I bought a set of 175/60-13 V700's a few months ago and I got the regular set, not shaved, not heat-cycled.

Can I mount and run these at the Streets event in September? Will the tires fall apart?

Can I mount them and take them for a few canyon runs around here to "heat-cycle" them?

They're going on a light weight Rabbit GTI if it matters. I've only ever run street tires, so this is new to me.

They won't fall apart.

To heat cycle them you need to get them up to operating temperature once and then take them off the car (or leave it on jackstands) for 24-48 hours.

As Steve says, you'll be fine. You can heat cycle them yourself before the event as he describes, and that'll make them last a bit longer if you do it.
