There will be some re-arranging of classings in the general classes (T1 - T7) for 2005, and I'll just note the changes in this thread as they occur.
There is also currently a thread underway for changes to the S2000 classing on S2ki you may want to contribute to if you're interested: http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235092
On other make-specific challenges, we're going to be tougher on them in 2005. If there isn't a field of at least several cars most every event, the make-specific challenge in question will be dropped. For instance, Boxster Challenge is almost certainly cancelled due to lack of participation, baring some unforseen massive influx of new Boxsters at the track with us.
More later.

Well, since I remember seeing somewhere here before that there is supposed to be a miata challenge but I can't see how a few miatas are making it to each and every one of the event, especially once you start dividing them into classes , perhaps we should do a cross make challenge, I'd go for a turbo miata / boxster challenge any day ...
Kiddin' ... you know I'm trying to get more miata guys to the events right?

Yeah, but the miata's rarely show, as you know. Most of your compatriots prefer the "quiet" confines of the miata-only events. The point is that if there are 1 or 2 miatas at an event, they win their class by default and what's the point then?
There're always the General Classes, where there's always competition available

You didn't get my point, I totally agree with you, there's no fun in winning by default, heck, there aren't enough really fast miatas to really make it fun, it'll be almost like winning by default anyways ..
I hate the miata only events, they are way too weak, no timing... I'm telling ya, that stuff is just too boring, the only miata only (or at least mostly) events that do worth something are the ones that T.E.A.M racing put up in THill once in a while.
I was just kidding about the Turbo miata / Boxster cross class.

I got your point, and I knew you were kidding. If anything it should be an S2000 / turbo Miata challenge. Rylan would be all over that!

No way Rylan will be all over that, I don't think I'm in unlimited, Mod is more comparable , I don't even have the power of a stock S2000 currently, with all seriousness (no excuse generator involved), last week on SOW I had a guy with a freakin Mini Cooper S had to _lift_ in the straightway for me to pass, obviously, by the time he was out of T2 I was already at T4, but power is much lower than normal, I'm thinking the motor is going bye bye ...

I'll be happy to duke it out once the car is built and done... as amtter of fact, I hope it'll be done with the build-up before the OTC, that will be a perfect place to try stuff out :-) , though experience is not on my side... I have only ran two days in THill, and never in Pahrump or LVMS... still have a few months to catch up on those.

Nahhh, I've been doing enough reading on s2ki forum in the BW thread to know that you talk a little too much sometimes .....

Update!
Changes for 2005
T1-9 classes
We are going to 9 classes this year (up from 7 last year), to better make room for the Radicals/other rediculously fast cars in the classing scheme. This means that most cars are going to move down 2 classes for 2005 from where they were in 2004. For example, if you were in T5 in 2004, you're now a T7 car. Exceptions to this will be cars in T1 & T2, which may or may not change classes depending on the car.
The reason for this is basically that T1 became a catch all in which the performance range is too large to create a fair playing field.
This change is retro-active for all events to date in 2005 and I'll be making the change shortly.
Radical Challenge Series
There is a new series for Radicals, which is a 2 class arrangement at present as seen in the draft classings: http://www.speedventures.net/Radical_classes.asp

John, sounds like having to change all the track records too and not sure what system that is set up on but might just take a lot of time, thanks for all the effort.

Miata streets is now a T9 car. I've gotten most of the 2005 results updated, but Randy's right, I'll have to retro-change the track records page to the new classing.
