Which would you rather have for a combo track/street car? The Ultima would be a bit quicker, but it's hard to argue with the GT40 design (and it ain't slow either)

Screw the Mosler, I was nor very impressed, it barely beat our stock Viper at OTC in T1 and broke 3 times.

I'm starting to forgive vettresdtrere for his earlier transgression
Am I wrong in assuming that, in addition to looking more modern and sports-racery, the Ultima is a more modern design and will have better overall handling on the track?

Yes, I think so. I haven't been able to find any times to compare between the two cars, but I know that the Ultima holds "fastest street legal car times" at most tracks in England, and as we all know, almost anything is street legal in England.
I'm afraid the GT40 would suffer somewhat from the same phenomena my Beck 550 does; old design means it doesn't run the times its power:weight would suggest.
Edit: Oh, the other issue is the GT40 has a front end lift charecteristic at high speeds; whereas the Ultima has very good aero producing over 1000lbs of DF at 160mph. That there is worth a lot of time.

Who needs adustable camber? I got three freakin' cupholders in a 2 seater, can the Ford or Ultima top that? Enough said!

Sidepod twin Gas tanks: Fill one with soda, add a long straw, and you've got the Ultimate in ontrack refreshment, mofo!

Until the car has a tap built right into the dash next to the hookah, what does it matter?
Seriously though, you were telling me you really want a lightweight track car. Why not get a used '94-'95 Formula Ford 2000 (Van Dieman or Swift) or used Formula Mazda? High tech enough to keep it interesting (unlike the Renault Spec racers), yet still fairly economical???
I am becoming kind of a regular now, how do I get one of those Speedventures T shirts, and when are you guys gonna post the Buttonwillow results!!!

I dont know about the Ultima being totally faster... put some modern wheels and rubber on a GT40, and after-maket chin spoiler, and you could have yourself a race.

Only if the GT40 had a pretty big hp advantage. Good rubber and a front spoiler can't make up for the lack of df in the GT40...but I've still got to say the GT looks better
