No, I like Thill backwards. Charging up the hill between 10 and 9, cresting it blind knowing you've got to be setup for the sharp right (turn 9), then blasting down the hill into the "guts turn" at 8. That complex is more fun backwards than CCW. I also like 4, 3, 2 and 1 better reverse, though I've got to admit that 1 is hairy, drifting towards the timing building as you track out, then staring down the pit wall as you pull back across on to the straight.

For anyone interested, here's a lap of Thill CW (backwards): http://www.wurthmotorsports.com/videos/Thunderhill_CW-2-8-2003-Lap7_web.wmv

You're nuts, Dearing, CW is better than CCW.

I like Sears a lot, and it's my best track, meaning I run my best times there, but it's pretty simple compared to LS and TH, IMHO

Gotta love the big track at Willow.  It may not be as technical as Streets or Buttonwilllow, but there is something about coming out of turn 9 doing 90+ and the back end hanging out.

Hey, Nevada might as well be part of California!

My personal favorite in our regular operating area is Spring Mountain!

Nuts about what?  Nevada or Spring Mountain?

John's just peeved because he's only six tenths faster there in his T1 Z06 over my mostly stock coupe (and slower than my Pro Chassis car).

Sorry, there's just nothing like diving into turn nine at speed off the sweeper (and getting the car on two wheels at the apex is fun too).

Mike

Let's see, Spring Mtn., small track, huge boulders if you go off track, 120 degrees in the summer, desert dust & wind, NO services, no shade and Rupert with his shotgun , yeah that's a great track

Ah, I was driving on corded tires with no ABS, so I wouldn't call that a representative time. I've got pictures from that event where all 4 of my tires are smoking. Looks like I've got AWD

Oh jezz, what a wuss!  It's only a problem if you go off track or break down, which Corvette's never do!  Don't know about you Viper guys though...

Small track?  It's 2.2 miles!  Heat?  Like Palmdale or Buttonwillow is any better!  Besides, Corvette's don't overheat and we can run with the air conditioning on, no problem...

John, I'll cut you some slack until we all run again at the same time, but you know, excuses are like assholes, everyone's got one (and Ron has a few extra around at all times).

Can you belive all this smack taking from a guy who fell on his face at the OTC?  Watching CART and F1 does wonders!

Mike

Well, come to SOWS this weekend then. The track favors your car by far, but I'm willing to give it a shot

Now I'm just going to have to find a faster car to compete with Mike's mini-nascarmobile...hmmm...
