Radical Challenge Series Classification Draft #1 The Radical Challenge Series uses a very simple class structure at this point, which is a draft and subject to revision. At this point, the assumption is made that Radicals do not tend to be modified appreciably from stock configuration, therefore, there are only 2 classes in the Radical Challenge Series. Should this assumption be found to not be the case, or should the modification climate change in the Radical world, we may add classes as needed to maintain a fair and competitive environment, while hopefully still keeping decent-sized classes with good competition levels. The classes as they stand are: Class 1 This class is for Turbo Radicals or the new Radical SR-8. SR-3 and SR-4 non-turbo Radicals that are modified to a sufficient extent to make them overdogs in Class 2 may be bumped to Class 1 to maintain a level playing field. Drivers who are concerned about this possibility may want to discuss planned modifications with SV, who will keep such modifications confidential until done and will do their best to answer questions about classing changes on a case by case basis. Class 2 Class 2 is a catch all at this point for SR-3 and SR-4 non-turbo cars. All cars in class 2 are assumed to be running full slicks, therefore no "credit" is given to any car running a lesser tire. At this point there do not appear to be 1000cc cars to justify a lower class, and all naturally aspirated motors of 1500cc and below are classed in 2. As mentioned in the Class 1 description, should a Class 2 car be modified to such an extent it is an overdog in Class 2, that care may be bumped to Class 1. Modifications that could result in a class bump include: significant lightening of the car, significant power gains over a standard, Radical-supplied 1500cc engine or a Craigo Engineering 1400cc engine, and significant upgrades to aerodynamics, just to name the most likely causes. There are other conceivable modifications which could result in a class bump, and this is not an inclusive list.
