Membership and Timing Information

Due to demand by particpants, we are purchasing an AMB transponder timing system. This is the same type of highly-accurate system that keeps time for Formula 1, CART, SCCA events, and most other major racing series worldwide. In an effort to help pay for the enormous expense of the system, we have decided to offer annual memberships to our events.

Purchasing an annual membership for $60 will save you $15 per event on timing, which means the membership pays for itself in 4 events. We will be running 9 events this year, so it goes without saying that the membership is a great value. Membership fees will go directly to paying for the system, which will save us money on financing, making it a win-win proposal. Members will also receive advance notice about events, so they have an opportunity to register before non-members.

We understand that at first glance it may seem strange that membership doesn't reduce the transponder rental fee. Please understand, however, that each transponder we have to keep available for rental costs us hundreds of dollars, which we can only recoup $20 at a time. Rather than having to pay up front an additional $6000 for 20 rental transponders, we would much prefer to encourage participants to purchase transponders.
