A big thanks to our great group of race drivers for racing cleanly; there were no incidents and the race went off without a hitch. Pictures and video as well as a discussion about the race are available on our forum.
Farewell to Paul Mumford: We are deeply saddened to report that Paul Mumford was one of the two people killed in a small plane crash in Chino, CA last weekend. Paul was a great driver and a wonderful person, and he'll be sorely missed.

You can keep up with the SV teams at the OTC in general at our new OTC page !
Event Results: Event results for Sears Point, Laguna Seca, and Thunderhill have now been updated with the new General Classing method. Make-specific Challenge Classes will be changing for most series and should be updated this week. Also, the incomparable Doug Hayashi (and I'm saying incomparable for his writing, not his driving, of course!), has updated his site with a writeup of the Laguna event. He also has a good one for Thunderhill.
Sears Point: We two great days at Sears Point with excellent weather and the times to prove it. Luc Noel ran 1:47's in his Trans Am Series Mustang, with John Dearing running 1:50.133 in his Hoosier-shod, but otherwise largely stock Viper. Update: The results are online. Also added this page with a few photos from the event, for anyone interested...
2002 Season ends at Streets: A big thanks to everyone who joined us for the season finale at Streets on 12-13! We had a great time at this fun little track, and saw great times from Jason Keeney, Jason Rhoades, and Boka, in their respective classes. We also saw the shape of things to come, such as it is, with the Rhoades S2000 "backyard special" wing, which apparently knocked over a second off laptimes for those who tried it. As always, there is an excellent writeup on Doug Hayashi's site. Just click on "Chapter 91".
Videos: Hotlap videos of Sears Point and Streets of Willow added. Also added clip of near disasterous mistake in Esses at Sears, which was only overcome by breathtaking driving skill . Click link at left for the videos..
As part of our timing series, we have created a new membership program which offers discounts on timing to members. Please take a moment to look at the membership program.
New Challenge Series!: The concept of our S2000 Challenge series was so popular, we've been asked to create similar series for other enthusiast groups. We are now happy to announce the creation of the Corvette Challenge and Boxster Challenge, where owners of said cars can compete against one another in a Championship Series, vying for the crown as King of the Series!
For more information on our Challenge Series, click here.
If you're part of a group that can muster 5 or more cars of a given model, we'll create a series for you, just let us know!
Results for Buttonwillow are now online. In a completely unsurprising development, John Dearing took FTE, running a 02:07.442 in his stock Viper with Hoosiers. Congratulations (again), John :) We also want to congratulate Doug "I never spin" Hayashi on running a very quick 02:14.594 in his near-stock (Mod-R) S2000, putting him just .08 sec behind the always-quick Dave Kennedy in his supercharged S2000! And we would be remiss if we didn't mention "ak555" (name changed to protect the guilty) who ran an excellent 02:23.008, taking 12th overall out of 40+ timed cars in his 140 hp Nissan Sentra SE-R! Want the whole run-down? Click here
Results for Willow Springs Part Deaux: Return to the Inferno are now online. Happily, it was about 10 degrees cooler on this second trip to WSIR, and the times showed it. John Dearing took FTE, and the "Top Gun" award by running a 1:29.630 in his stock Viper with Hoosiers! For his great drive, John wins a free trip to Buttonwillow with us on September 20th. Congratulations, John! We also want to congratulate Len Taylor on breaking into the 1:30's in a relatively stock street-driven Miata. Len ran a 1:39.931, which is an amazing time and beat many higher-hp cars. Nice driving, Len! Want all the dirt? Click here
Willow Springs, 7-2002 results: Results for the July WSIR event are now online, with Grieco taking FTE with a 1:29.166 in his prepped Viper! Want to know more? Click here

Spring Mountain (Pahrump, NV) event, May 25-26, 2002: We had a really good time at Spring Mountain with a great group of drivers and some blazingly fast laptimes. Serious congratulations go out to David Kennedy who turned a scorching 01:51.886 in his supercharged S2000 with Kumhos for fast time of the eventÂ…well, FTE if you don't count Rupert Bragg-Smith turning a 01:48.725 with a passenger in his Z06, but hey, when you own the track, you'd better be fast on it! :-)
Results for this event may be found here
Ferrari 360 Spin at Sears Point: You may have heard of the 360 hitting the dirt berm at our recent Sears Point event. Well, Tazio was nice enough to send us footage of his misadventure. Note that what begins as a small error of being a little wide through the turn and track out turns into a serious problem when Tazio's natural instinct takes over and he "lifts" off the throttle as he drops two wheels off the track.
The car probably could have been brought back on track by maintaining throttle position and smoothly steering the car back on track. Tazio was unhurt, and the car didn't suffer much damage; in fact, he finished up the day by driving the remaining sessions! Our hat's off to Tazio for getting back out there, and much thanks for sending us the clip!
Aaron 5 - Hayashi 1: This is getting ugly, folks. Aaron extended his lead yet again in the massacre formerly known as the Aaron - Hayashi grudge
match at the newly-finished Sears Point. How'd it all go down? Well, details are coming soon...but the question on everyone's minds is "Can Hayashi come back?" In May we return to where it all began, Spring Mountain, the badlands of Nevada. Join us there for this epic battle, and you'll be telling your grandkids about it!
Sears Point Results: We had an awesome event at Sears Point last weekend, and provisional results are now online!
Car numbers: Those who don't yet have a car number can select them online. Just login to get yours!
March 8th Streets of Willow Springs Event: The Grudge Match continues.
Timing!: Beginning with the Buttonwillow event, we will have AMB transponder-based timing at all events. We are currently classing cars for our new time trial series, which will be a championship-style points race culminating with awards for the leaders in each class.
As part of the new timing series, we have created a new membership program which offers discounts on timing to members. Please take a moment to look at the membership program.
November 9th Streets of Willow Springs Event: Our November 9th event had a great group of drivers, no incidents, and perfect weather, making it an excellent day at the track! A special plus was the McLaren F1 (!) running on the big track. More information, and pictures, are available here. Thanks to all who signed up for making it a great day.
